I’m not sure if he means Trump vs Clinton 2016 if Clinton campaigned the same way she did in 2008.

Trump/Huckabee 188

I'd arguably give Hillary North Carolina and Arizona too, which would give her 375 EVs to Trump's 163.

It doesn't matter how she campaigned, the e-mail issue still would have overshadowed everything. She loses similarly. Perhaps she keeps Michigan.

She'd probably carry MI, WI, PA, NC, FL, IA, and maybe OH and AZ.

This.

Her '08 campaign was also character assassination primarily over policy, it's just that she put more energy into it and her more WWC-friendly ideas were there more.

It wouldn't change too much, but it should be enough to retain the Midwest 77,000, stop Trump from flooding the white vote in Florida, and flip Arizona and NE-02 in upsets. No NC, no Georgia, Utah is lost by 9 at best. And the PV is maybe 1 point different from reality.

This plus North Carolina. In real life, Trump won it by only 3 percentage points.

Clinton only campaigned that way in 2008 because she was losing to Obama.

If she thought she was losing to Trump, she probably would've pulled a "Palin" and gone for a "shock and awe" VP pick, picking someone like Tammy Baldwin (first LBTQ on a major party ticket), Julian or Joaquin Castro (First Hispanic on a major party ticket) or Bernie Sanders (unites the party, first open socialist on a major party ticket...unless you count FDR, and he certainly wasn't a socialist until after he was sworn in).

If Clinton had campaigned like she did in '08, she would have lost the nomination to Sanders or some other progressive.

The question is specifically referring to the general election, and assumes Clinton's already won the nomination.

That said, you're probably right.

If she’s already won the nomination when she makes the shift, then absolutely she will win the GE.

The thing is, she only campaigned that way in 2008 when she was losing to Obama. She would have to be losing to Trump to be campaigning this way.

She was just as entitled and ignorant in 2008.  She'd still lose.

She probably loses with the same map. Everyone just underestimated how bad her baggage was with so many people.
