I doubt Trump is "theirs" in the way some would love to assume. To the extent that he belongs to them, it is likely that his thoughts (and those of his closest influences) are part of an emergent, now transatlantic semicoherent worldview that seeks an alliance with Russia, and is openly hostile to and, often vocalizes their perception that, the "Western elite" (Brussels bureaucrats, MSM, "the swamp") are the real enemies. Look at the currents of thought dominating the right-wing across Europe, whether it is Farage, Le Pen, Orban, or whoever, the majority of them seek the death of the post-WWII political order, the disintegration of the existing EU, and a newfound alliance that necessarily includes Russia.
Whether particular financial interests, along with or even underlying, these new ideas is the real motivating factor is debatable.
