I know Scott has almost unlimited cash, but the marginal utility of having that big an advantage so early in the race is pretty minimal, especially since Democrats will surely catch up when things really get going.

Money is dramatically overrated in general. Linda McMahon threw a combined $100 million at both of her US Senate races (including one in an R-leaning environment) and lost both by double digits.

Let's not forget Jeb!, who spent $104 million to not even finish in the top 5 in either delegates or popular vote.

To be fair, Connecticut is much more democratic than Florida. I think Florida is exactly the kind of state where money can make a difference between a narrow loss and a narrow win.
