Racist rural Southern Democrat who became a Reagan Republican by 1984.  Had a major change of heart on race after falling in love with Obama, became passionate for an inclusive America, and turned-off by Trump's divisiveness.

A woman whose husband was drafted into Vietnam. She wanted him to come home, so she voted for the anti-War McGovern in 72. Became very angry with Nixon and the GOP for escalating it, so she voted for Carter in 76. Her husband died in the war, so she had to raise her children on her own. She blamed Carter for wrecking the economy and almost losing her home, so she votes for Reagan in 80. She gets laid off from her union job because of Reagan and votes for Mondale in 84. She perceives Bush Sr. as being no different from Reagan, who cost her her job so she votes for Dukakis in 88. In 92, she won't vote for Bush who screwed her over and votes for Clinton in 92. Things haven't gotten better for her. She isn't experiencing the economic boom that the rest of the country is. By now she's too old to get hired anywhere. She is fed up with the establishment and votes for Perot in 96. Now that she's nearing retirement age, she goes to Bush in 00.

Liberal-leaning working class white in Appalachia who consistently voted Democrat and thought Reaganomics was anti-worker all the way up until the mid-80s, then began voting Republican in 88 after they became convinced Reaganomics was a good thing.

Some white working class Democrat who lives in Florissant, became extremely racist after the BLM protests in Ferguson, and started voting Republican. He’s still distrustful of mainstream Republicans like Blunt and Ashcroft and votes Democrat occasionally to get revenge for the primaries.

OK, my next guy supported Obama in 2008; went for Coats in 2010; backed Romney, Pence, and Donnelly in 2012; voted for Clinton, Young, and Holcomb in 2016; and Braun in 2018.

My example could also apply to South (St. Louis) County and Jefferson County in Missouri, especially considering the latter's big swing to the GOP.

I was about to make a thread just like this but I noticed that one was already made. To answer GTG, a middle class Latino who normally votes Republican but wanted to vote for the first black president and thought that Trump was a racist in 2016.

Moderate Democrat who flirted with Reagan-style Republicanism, lives in Maine.

Gore/Bush/McCain/Obama/Johnson/Biden voter.  Backed Huckabee in the 2008 primaries.
