This should be interesting (I did, as I do virtually every Sunday)

Yeah, I did today. It got slightly political, which is unusual for the church.

Same here too. I didn't expect John the Baptist to get worked into an abortion discussion, but that's how it went.

The priest mentioned "the racism of our society" today, which, while perhaps poignant, I struggle to now think of how it fit into the context of John the Baptist.

My pastor is a bit political for my taste sometimes, but today I got a linguistics lesson about what "blessed is the man" means in Greek.

Same here. Abortion seems much harder to fit in.

I can count the amount of religious services I attended on two hands: they were either Bar/Bat Mitzvahs or Communions.

Believe it or not, my church doesn't get political that often. Last week there was bashing of Trump over the families being separated thing though.

No, missed the shabbat shul service on Friday evening because of my trip to France to hang out with Lechasseur.

Wasn't feeling great and didn't want to risk getting some of our older members sick. Would normally have been there.

How considerate of you to endanger your own salvation in order to delay their reunion with Jesus!

No, I've come to realize religion is all corrupt and evil at its core, I'll never join a church ever again.

No, sadly. I haven’t missed a service, barring illness or absence, to my church in Arkansas in at least a decade, so I’m a little disappointed in myself.
