Yes, but he would've lost the popular vote still.

President Gerald Ford (R-MI)/Senator Bob Dole (R-KS) - 284 EV 48.7%
Governor Jimmy Carter (D-GA)/Senator Walter Mondale (D-MN) - 254 EV 49.3%
