New SurveyUSA finds Senator Feinstein with a 22 point lead over progressive challenger Kevin de Leon. Notable: The same poll finds Gavin Newsom with a wider lead over Republican John Cox in the gubernatorial race (58-29%). I assume the 31% undecideds are mostly Republicans. Newsom is also at 58%, polling 12 points better than Feinstein.

Dianne Feinstein (D, inc.): 46%
Kevin de Leon: 24%
Undecided: 31%

559 LVs.

Call some local Indiana news stations and ask them why they aren't paying for more polls. This poll is of California because a bunch of California local news stations commissioned it.

Can anyone explain why were getting so many polls from California, and so few polls from competitive states?

I bet they get more viewers from reporting on the California Senate race than they would reporting on the Indiana Senate race, though.

Rehashing the same California poll every week isn't bringing any viewers.

I can think of about 40 million reasons.

I believe that IN & MT (and maybe ND too) have laws on the books that prevent robo-polling. That's why there aren't many; because it's exponentially more expensive to poll live voters and these states are relatively small.

CA gets polled because it's a huge state with a lot of money coming from a lot of media outlets who want the latest headline.

de Leon leads by 2% with Republicans and 4% among conservatives. Not that it much matters since that sub sample is mostly meaningless do to there being no Republican on the ballot.

I'm sure some NRA members really would rather him be senator, because that's Feinstein's signature issue.

#FeinsteinUnder50

Any chance the Republicans make this competitive? Remember the polls said Hillary would win!
