Abortion and guns are the two issues that the far-right and the far-left want to change the law. So where do you stand?

If either was made illegal/banned the country would be in complete outrage. I am against abortion, but unfortunately the far-right is trying to restrict contraception in America. So i think the banning of either would be a complete disaster for America.

So i vote option 1. Keep it as it is, because the consequences of banning one of them could make this country go into civil war.

E.  None of the above.  Like with most positions in the political world, they are not "black and white."

can you imagine the consequences of banning abortion in America. The moment one American is killed down a back ally the left wing press will go nuts. The country will become more divided and the far right will move to their next target- Returning school prayer.

Option 2 -though, in reality, I would prefer each state to decide for itself on whether it wants abortion to be kept legal rather than for the courts to mandate the practice on them.

I personally would keep abortion legal, but heavily restricted with parental notification, and a ban on partial birth and third-trimester abortions.  No exceptions.

The question is too black and white for me to answer.  I support restrictions on both, but I don't wan to 'ban' either.

Wrong, the far right will NEVER ban abortions, it wouldn't be politically beneficial for them to do so.

You're on the right track.  They support repealing abortion rights, but won't ever repeal Roe because it would hurt them politically.

I've been in some pretty heavy, frank strategy seccions, and I have never heard this come up.

This is just another conspiriency theory along the lines of something that David Icke would come up with to "prove" why Republicans are terrible people and why the Democrats are so benevolent.

You should suggest it next time.  Remember, the second Roe gets overturned abortion goes from being a vote-getter for the GOP to a liability for the GOP.

this poll is stupid as the two issues have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

NOTA - keep guns legal/don't really care.

I'm at the point where I can see the arguments for both sides of the abortion debates, and I don't consider it all that much of an important issue. Reasonable restrictions as a compromise is the only likely solution at this point.

Did anyone else get the mental image of shooting babies when they read this?

The Constitarian Party is a strong supporter of the Second Ammendment.  Thomas Jefferson said, "The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves in government."   To anyone who truly beleives in the wisdom of the founding fathers, gun control is actually one of the greatest reasons not to have gun control because it is just the government trying to trample upon the rights of Americans.

I support a five day waiting period for abortions.  Reasonable abortion measure should be take like fetus locks.

I support keeping guns legal after the first trimester.  After guns are past this stage they should not be aborted.  Also, I belive in responsibilty such as using contraceptives to prevent unwanted guns.

Send me all your unwanted guns.

I will either adopt them into my arsenal (where they will be fired, cleaned, oiled and stored with loving care), or see to it that they have good homes elsewhere.

Perhaps we could get a .380 (preferably a PPK/S) for TexasGurl.  A .32 just isn't sufficent to deal with a rapist.
