I'm hoping for Kethledge but I think it will be Kavanaugh. (Which would be okay too)

Hopefully it's a non-Catholic...FOR ONCE.  We need religious diversity on the Court.

Again, Barrett is literally a cult member.

Apparently Barrett wrote a law article in 2016 that said that as an originalist that she is against Brown v the Board of Education

I totally agree with this statement. Unfortunately, Republicans love to nominate Catholic Supreme Court justices, because they know they’ll be extremely biased against Abortion and Gay rights. Knowing this, it’s pretty obvious that Amy Barrett will be the nominee, because she’s a traditionalist Catholic that will stop at nothing to return society to the Middle Ages.

If he is thinking about re-election and keeping his promises, Raymond Kethledge. If he picks Kavanaugh, he pandered to the wrong side and sold out. Barrett is just too inexperienced but otherwise she is a solid pick.

In addition, Kethledge would be a monumental pick due to his adherence to the legal philosophy of originialism and he has a strong track record which is consistent. I do hope that Trump recalls his campaign promises in 2016 to overturn Roe v. Wade and nominate originalists.

Amy Barrett is not, sadly, a traditionalist Catholic. She’s a member of People of Praise, an ecumenical organization, which is extremely far from traditionalism.

Do you really think Trump gives a sh**t about what he "promised" on the campaign trail?

I voted Kavanaugh, but it's fairly plausible that he picks Kethledge or Barret.

Wouldn't Kavanaugh be the least controversial?

Him and Hardiman, not a ton of difference IMO. Either probably commands around 55 votes

I have a feeling Trump may be saving Barrett for when he replaces RBG (if he wins a second term or if she can't hold out until Trump's Democratic successor).

Kethledge, since he appears to be the least controversial option.

Ginnsberg said GOP will get their nominnee anyways and said Dems need to recognize that. She is living a healthy life in Israel, and said she wants to see a Dem in office in 2020

https://www.politico.com/newsletters/playbook/2018/07/08/mcconnell-weighs-in-on-supreme-court-pick-with-trump-283957

McConnell apparently advised Trump that Hardiman and Kethledge would be the easiest candidates to confirm.

I said earlier I thought it'd be Kavanaugh or Barrett, but I'm really hoping for Kethledge.

I think Barrett is young enough where she could replace Ginsburg in the event of Trump re-election in 2020 (or, any Republican in 2020), or even possibly afterwards.

Well, at least he'd break the Harvard/Yale culture that's permeated the Court since the 90s.

Hardiman ruled for asylum seekers and offered legal aid to illegals. His wife comes from a prominent Democratic family.

I cant see why he would pick Hardiman if hes trying to excite his base
