On the bright side, at least Murphy is losing. She would be the only candidate I can see actually losing statewide. Unfortunate about Walz though, since he'd be the most electable candidate of these.

The DFL convention process needs to die.

Swanson probably has this. It's Walz's internal poll, and Democratic women have been taking nominations like they're cash lying on the street.

I don't mind Swanson among all the boring Dem women candidates. She seems halfway progressive.

Damn, poor Walz. Giving up a vulnerable House seat when there were no good candidates for Governor, and then Swanson jumps in and makes a mess with the Ellison/Omar situation.

On the other hand, Swanson had been visibly angling for the Governor’s office for a while. Swanson entering wasn’t a huge surprise, people had been speculating that she would forego the convention altogether if she did run for Governor, given that the party activists hate her.

I guess she smelled blood in the water when Walz lost the DFL nomination, and sensed that he was vulnerable enough for her to jump in & win.

Watch Cook move this to Lean R if Swanson wins the primary.

That's why I want Walz to win this. I don't want him to have given up his seat for nothing. Albeit, he potentially could have lost there too.

Important to remember that Swanson has an A+ from the NRA, likely not an anchor in November but could create more vulnerability in the primary.

Walz also had strong NRA ratings, so not really.
