Needed some time to waste, so I decided to make this thread since I've been seeing the use of "prolly" grow recently. Thoughts?

It's shorter to type and it's how I say it IRL.

Never used or heard someone use "prolly" in my life. Prolly a more American thing.

I'd be much more likely to write "probably", but in my everyday speech I would certainly say "prolly", especially if I'm speaking with my friends. I would say more than an American thing, it seems to be a Midwestern thing. I would only say "probably" if I'm giving the word some emphasis.

I honestly haven't either, LOL ... I have definitely heard people pronounce "probably" as "probly," though.

Me neither until like a few months ago, but it's growing, unfortunately. Tongue

calling it "prolly" is bad English. Just as "Latinx" is bad Spanish.
