Geneva County, Alabama

1968: 91.73% Wallace

1988 (D): Al Gore (51.41%), Jesse Jackson (20.39%), Richard Gephardt (15.19%), Michael Dukakis (7.82%).

George County, Mississippi

1968: 91.20% Wallace

1988 (D): Al Gore (47.72%), Jesse Jackson (17.06%), Richard Gephardt (14.18%), Michael Dukakis (9.9%), Gary Hart (5.79%)

Lamar County, Alabama

1968: 88.25% Wallace

1988 (D): Al Gore (48.03%), Richard Gephardt (24.40%), Jesse Jackson (19.45%), Michael Dukakis (6.32%)

Calhoun County, Mississippi

1968: 87.80% Wallace

1988 (D): Al Gore (61.82%), Jesse Jackson (21.69%), Michael Dukakis (5.75%), Richard Gephardt (5.23%)

Holmes County, Florida

1968: 87.21 Wallace

In some ways it's not surprising that Southern counties would support a Southerner for President; especially since, at the time, Gore still had a pro-life (the way the term is commonly used; anti-abortion) streak.

Interesting to see George County, MS and Holmes County, FL on there. These two counties are usually the most Republican counties in their respective states in presidential elections. Coincidence?

Haha, obviously I'm kind of trolling.  Sure, it's no coincidence?  Don't really care.  However, there are tons of ultra-GOP counties that Wallace didn't do well in.  I'm not going around trying to create a correlation, as that would be dumb and a waste of time.  So is what that poster is trying to do.
