Maybe. What Maduro claimed afterwards did sound ridiculous.

Either way, Maduro is still in charge of the country, so he'll keep screwing us over for a while. Or forever. Who knows.

I'd be more inclined to think it insiders hoping to kill him and install someone more competent to safeguard their graft. Regardless of who was behind it, it was inevitable he'd blame the opposition.

Maduro claims there is a right-wing conspiracy involving Colombia and exiles based in Florida. Also, a group called "Movement of Soldiers in T-shirts" claimed responsibility for the attack. Possibly Maduro supporters call themselves ""Army of Shirtless Soldiers". Assassination attempts are a very serious thing, but I can't help but laugh at the absurd and surreal turn of this. Maduro, his supporters and his opponents are all amazing.
