Announcement

Hello, fellow Atlasians! Today, I'm announcing my second campaign (and hopefully first successful) to public office. I'll be running under the Labor Party for a seat in the House of Representatives. I've already been informed (by a certain Young Texan) that this will be a hard race to win considering all the big names in the race, but honestly, I don't really care. If elected, I'll take my values and beliefs to the House of Representatives, speaking of which...

I believe in
- breaking up "too big to fail" banking institutions to prevent future recessions
- a small tax on Wall St. speculation to fund social programs and decrease the deficit
- unlike the Labor Manifesto, no assault weapons ban.
- large re-investments in levees, dams, roads, schools, and bridges
- expanding fast internet broadband to rural areas
- investing in a renewable energy labor force
- fair trade, renegotiate NAFTA, CAFTA, etc, address our trade deficits

These are my core beliefs and convictions. My views do not cater to one political party or ideology, and as representative, I will fight for those views. In the next post, I will explain my specific beliefs on all the issues (and hopefully get to as many issues as I can). That aside, I ask for your vote for first pref in the upcoming house elections.
