This is similar to another thread but takes it a bit farther. If you had been alive for a given election who would you have voted for? (We'll exclude 1789 and 1792 as there really was no contest and popular votes didn't become a thing until 1796, even then only in some states).

I would find most pre-Civil War American politicians to be repulsive, though I would tend to prefer Yankees like John Adams and son, Van Buren, Fillmore and Pierce.
