Figured I'd make one in anticipation of tonight.

Curious to see how the D Lt. Gov and row offices races go.

And, of course, the R Gov race too, but I haven't been following it as much.

Lot of grassroots support for Bermudez Zimmerman, in addition to labor support. Wonder if it’s enough to buck the establishment.

Makes me wish we had polling for races like this.

All the state party-endorsed candidates are winning on the D side, but at least some of them are close.

I had the Governor's race as Lean D when I still thought there were decent odds the Republicans nominated a sane moderate.
Considering moving it to likely... I don't think someone with views like Stefanowski's is electable here, especially in a midterm with a Republican president.

Very good news for CT Democrats. There was probably some ticket of Republicans that could have made this a really competitive race, but Stefanowski/Markley is not that ticket by a long shot. Malloy’s unpopularity opens the door, but not just anyone can walk in. At least Lean D feels appropriate for now, and anyone worried about Dems chances here should feel better with these candidates.

What could that "competitive ticket" be?
Boughton/Stewart comes to mind.

Wait, people here actually thought this race would be competitive? Lol, Likely D at the very least.

lol garbage opinion

Republicans are more likely to win NH, RI and ME than CT. Lamont probably isn’t going to win in a landslide, but I don’t see how he loses this race. I really hope CT is the only state in New England Republicans lose so that I don’t have to hear about muhhhh Malloy unpopularity anymore.

Muhloy

Avoiding debates is almost never a winning play. Also interested to hear about Oz Griebel's candidacy. I don't expect him to do too well, but a more moderate right-of-center candidate might give Lamont an extra couple of points of cushion.

Just got back from tonight's debate. I thought both Griebel and Lamont did well, I'm excited to see Griebel add a couple of points to Lamont's final margin. Lamont got the biggest reaction from the crowd when he first mentioned how he ran against Leiberman in '06, but both Lamont and Greibel got a couple of rises from the crowd. Stefanowski came off really bad. Griebel and Lamont both had energy and specific policy plans, but all Stefanowski had to talk about was Muhlloy. Let's just say it didn't stick.
