CNN Iowa Caucus Coverage

Eric Burnett: The polls are set to close in ten minutes in Iowa, and when they do, the first caucus of the year will be kicking off.
John King: Let’s run down the major candidates on both sides for our viewers in case they don’t know.
Eric Burnett: Sure. For the Democrats, incumbent President Richard Cordray is running effectively unopposed. For the Republicans, there are 4 major politicians in this race. Former Iowa Representative Steve King is the current frontrunner here, in his home state of Iowa.
John King: Any information about Steve King’s campaign here?
Eric Burnett: Well, it’s been called “One of the most openly racist campaigns ever run for Federal Office”. King has made anti-immigrant sentiment the guiding focus of his campaign to an extent that surpasses even Trump’s campaigns. He’s called for the citizen children of non-citizen immigrants to have their citizenship revoked and said that “The good thing about abortion is that it keeps the ethnic population lower.” He’s still popular among Republican voters in his home state, even after he lost re-election back in 2020, and is the prohibitive favorite to win Iowa tonight.
John King: And the other candidates?
Eric Burnett: Well, there’s Corey Stewart, a Virginia politician who many accuse of being a neo-confederate, Senator Ben Sasse, who is attempting to run as the moderate in the race, and Former Governor Rick Scott, whose campaign has been derailed by corruption scandals.
John King: Excellent roundup, John. Now, the first results appear to be trickling in from Des Moines.

Iowa Caucus Results
Former Representative Steve King: 62.98%, 19 delegates
Corey Stewart: 22.12%, 6 delegates
Senator Ben Sasse: 9.13%, 3 delegates
Former Governor Rick Scott: 9.13%,  2 delegates

Overall Results to date:

Former Representative Steve King: 62.98%, 19 delegates
Corey Stewart: 22.12%, 6 delegates
Senator Ben Sasse: 9.13%, 3 delegates
Former Governor Rick Scott: 9.13%,  2 delegates
How stupid are the people of Iowa...
