Washoe County used to be a Republican Stronghold for many years at the Presidential levels, but since 2008 it has voted for the Democrats, but the margins has narrowed each time. Tilt D

Lean D. Washoe and much of Nevada is fairly elastic.

Safe R. Unbeatable Titan Dean Heller's coattails will be so long that they'll drape into 2020. Hell, they might even take down CCM in 2022.

45 year-old white male casino owners with 5 o'clock shadow in Reno love Trump, and will make this Safe R.

Safe R obviously, especially if Dean Heller gives an inspiring speech at the RNC.

Tilt/Lean D. If Trump couldn't win it against Hillary, he is clearly not favored to win it.

The only way Trump might win this county is if he backs off his anti-Hispanic rhetoric.

Otherwise, it's at least tilt/lean D.

If Trump has the advantage going in, I would say its Tilt R or at least tossup. If his reelection bid is more or less a lost cause by October, it will be Likely D. It definitely will be Tilt D, if not Lean D, or better by 2024 when there is not a possibility of a "popular" incumbent running and a good deal of GOP fatigue.

Lean D. I'm looking at those 17,000 third party voters and all I can see is disgruntled Democratic leaning Independents and Likely Democrats voting against Hillary because they figured she'd win anyway.

Washoe County is a national bellwether county. The answer to this question depends on who you think will win the popular vote in 2020.

Looking at it that way then: lean D. I don't see Trump winning the Popular Vote under any circumstance, even if he wins the Electoral College.

Tilt R. Trump is gonna take Nevada in 2020. It usually goes with the incumbent.

Agreed. If Dems were able to win Washoe against Trump and a legion of Third Partiers in 2016, I see no reason why they can't again
