Admittedly this is all Breaking at Lightspeed, but my understanding is that Cohen's plea agreement does not require him to cooperate against Trump.

If by "routine" you mean at least one count alone carrying up to 30 years imprisonment, then yes.

He said under oath that he was directed by Trump to commit one of the campaign finance violations (a felony, btw).

I doubt it.

If I am correct, He is already facing life in prison. His best chance is to keep quit and hope Trump survives long enough to pardon him.

Manafort was found guilty of:
5 tax fraud charges
1 charge of hiding foreign bank accounts
2 counts of bank fraud.

He faces a maximum of 80 years in prison.
