I know it isn't really a "county" but we have results for the last three elections. What about before that?

It is really a county, even if Maui County provides many of the governmental services for it.

In 2004, it was in precinct 13-12, which voted by mail. It went 26-14 Kerry, or 65%-35%.

You can check prior years by looking for the Kaluapapa Settlement precinct.

And that's about how far back we can go by just using the Internet. The Hawaii Office of Elections' 1992 results are statewide-only, and they don't provide any online results pre-1992.

The Atlas doesn't differentiate between Kalawao & Maui counties in 1992 - though precinct results might be available for members, at least for 1992. I am not a member.

The Maui County Data Book a.k.a. Maui County Fact Book might have precinct-level results, but only versions from 2000 forward are available online, best I can tell. The paper copy of earlier years might be available at the Hawaii State Library and Library of Congress, if someone is in Hawaii or DC - or wants an excuse to visit Honolulu or D.C.

The other possibility, if anyone has access to Newspapers.com, is to check the Honolulu/Maui newspapers for older precinct results. They may or may not have printed them back in the day, as newspapers tended to do.
