This is genuinely tragic stuff if you're interested in history, paleontology, botany, zoology, sociology or anthropology. Untold numbers of priceless artifacts including the Luzia Woman, a huge collection of mummies, tens of thousands of pre Colombian artefacts, preserved species (many rare or extinct), decades of academic work: all lost along with one of the most important historical buildings in Brazil.

Tbh, incidents like this are the reason Western nations shouldn’t give back the precious artifacts they’ve stolen collected over the years
