Michael Joseph Jackson - one of the most interesting and inspiring personalities that have ever lived - would have become 60 y.o. on August 29.

I think it's hard to tell whom he'd have supported in the Democratic primary.
On the one hand Michael Jackson was black (well, kind of) and extremely rich, which indicates his support for Hillary.
On the other hand, he was clearly very left-wing, a pacifist and a distributist, and so were most of his fans, which speaks in Bernie's favor.

Jackson's home state was California, and his home county was Los Angeles County. If I'm not mistaken, you needn't be a member of a party to take part in a primary, need you?

I don't recall him making any political endorsements of candidates when he was alive, but he may have.

I know he is revered as an artist, and I recognize that his records are great, but I remember that for the last decade-and-a-half he was alive, the scandals, trials and tabloid stuff overshadowed his musical legacy, at least as far as the intersection between the press and popular culture. His image took an enormous hit from that and it can't be understated. As much as I hate to say it, these factors would likely have overshadowed anything he had to say about politics if he had lived past 50.

In an alternate universe where none of that happened, Michael might have had more political clout. It's hard to say who he would endorse though.
