For starters, I want to thank President North Carolina Yankee for the appointment, Vice President dfwlibertylover for getting this started, and everyone in the Senate for taking the time to come to this thread and presenting any questions they may have.

Secretary of Internal Affairs is a position I once held over a year ago under President dfwlibertylover's administration, and anyone who was around and active during that time could tell you that this was a position that I had taken seriously. Not only was this a position I was very active in, but it was a position that I enjoyed doing. So when the time came to apply for the position, of course I did not hesitate to apply to come back to fill this role again.

Much of the work I had done in my last term as SoIA involved actively engaging with and responding to GM stories. During the time I served, this mostly dealt with the NLLC terrorism storyline, in which I worked closely with then GM 1184AZ as well as then Lincoln Governor Wells and then Attorney General Truman. I also responded to real life natural disaster events, such as wildfires in the Fremont region. and hurricanes in the Southern region.

One of the main criticisms of this position is the consistent lack of activity from those who serve in the role, often to a point where some have talked about eliminating the role altogether.  As many who have been active in Atlasia since I joined in November 2016, this is not an issue that I have ever been truly associated with since becoming involved in an officeholding position, and it is my goal with taking on this role to once again set an example for future SoIAs on how the position should be run. There have been many bills recently passed in the 13th Congress with plenty of ways that our regions can build upon them, as well as regional issues that the federal government can step in and assist with. Serving both in the House and as SoIA would be a huge benefit, serving as a bridge between the federal and regional levels to ensure things are getting resolved properly and in a timely manner.

I don't want to make this too much longer than I already have with what I've done and my goals for the position, so I certainly welcome any questions you all may have, and look forward to getting this process started, and hopefully, if confirmed, working with you all in this position.

Would you support internal consolidation of redundant programs and bureaucracies under your authority?

I'm all for making the government run more efficiently and in a cost effective manner, this includes consolidating programs. Ultimately, I would be serving under President NC Yankee's administration, so any measures taken would of course be run by him to ensure such a move aligns with his policy positions, but given my record in the House and even during my Presidency, it would be fair to say it's something I would support as long as said programs are truly redundant and average citizens aren't harmed by those actions. As far as specific programs, I cannot say which I would support doing this with over others, as it's something I haven't had the opportunity at this time to discuss with anyone.

24 hours has passed and no objections have been noted, a final vote is now open on this confirmation.
Senators will have 72 hours to vote on the Confirmation of Fhtagn for SoIA, or until all Senators have cast their votes.
