We'll see how it goes Thursday. My suspicion is that it falls just short of 60 and McConnell shrugs and says "well, we tried it your way" to the Dems and just walks away.

It's plausible, but I can say that more plausible thing is that we will get some kind of compromise tomorrow. Just look at the pressure.

The senate will begin voting shortly. The President's plan will be the first vote.

According to Cotton, he couldnt vote for the bill because it gives protection for Dreamers.

The Dem bill is up next, expect a failure to pass.

Cotton continues to be one of the most comically repulsive creatures in US politics.

I'm going to take a bold, hopeful stance and predict that this type of thing will come back to bite him in the ass if he ever runs for president.

Looks like Manchin was the only Democrat to vote for it, Sinema and Jones both voting no.

What will come back to bite him is his extreme hawkishness and interventionism. The GOP base of today is not the pro-war GOP base of 15 years ago.

Wait how did it go from losing 11-41 to getting a majority? Do all Democrats vote at the beginning for some reason? Huh

Probably a strategy for Dems - Vote Early so the proposal has negative momentum.

Isn't the roll call normally done in alphabetical order?
