I'll start. After begging my parents like crazy this past March, I got to go ziplining in Whistler, British Columbia.

It was incredible. Even though my legs were shaking as the guide helped me put my harness on, I was so excited. We drove in a van up to the first one, and I couldn't wait.

Then, when I finally got to go on one, after being attached to the cable, I walked down a few steps until I couldn't stand up anymore, then stepped forward and went soaring 100 feet above a river. It's something I think everyone should experience at some point in their lifetimes, because the views were incredible. It just feels amazing is well.

But yeah, that was the day I got to go skiing and ziplining.

For deciding what the MOST fun I have ever had, I think I should eliminate things that I have done/do on a semi-regular basis (i.e., sporting events, generic roadtrips with friends, parties, etc.) ... so, I will go with white-water rafting in Colorado.  That was a blast.

probably the first time I operated a powered vehicle by myself....so gokarts when I was 8 or whatever.  Flying a plane for the first time was pretty cool too, but I was too busy mentally to properly enjoy it.  Along the same line of "too busy thinking to enjoy it", the first set of boobs a lady let me play with is right up there.

Driving around the fjords of Norway. It's not a s$%#hole country.

Spectacular landscape and culture.

Why dont we have more people from Norway?

Seriously, they are the nicest people on Earth.

did you get to drive "The Atlantic Ocean Road"?
wiki link
I don't do "bucket list", but if I did, that would be in the top 3.

I married one and I'd argue that last point Smiley, but she does give me a good excuse to get to Norway at some point.

I only drove from Bergen to Alesund and back. Majestic. And up to Geraingerfjorden.

The place was breathtaking. We cruised from Bergen to the Russian border and saw some spectacular scenery that I dare say, is hard to replicate in New Zealand.

Had the same experience with zip lining in Costa Rica. Being in that environment while having the rush of your life is thrilling, sprinkled with awe as you peek to the greenery around you.

I find questions like this very difficult to answer. Let me set that statement up with my sense of what is fun.

I can generally agree with the dictionary definition of fun as that what provides amusement or enjoyment. Amusement is a means of entertaining in a pleasant manner and enjoyment is the action of having a good time or taking pleasure from an action. Basically fun is about activities that create pleasure.

Here's where it gets difficult for me. The kind of pleasure involved with amusement is for me not an intense emotion. If it gets intense it tends to pass into the realm of excitement and I wouldn't call it fun in the same sense. So I can easily identify activities that were fun, but if an activity got to be too intense I wouldn't use it to describe the fun I've had.

That meaning of fun for me tends to exclude enjoyable activities that were brief and intense as being more fun than a similar duration, but less intense activity. So to ask me what events were more fun, I'd probably have to compare fun activities on the basis of their duration. That is longer duration activities that sustain fun for me are what I would call more fun.

So the most fun for me would be those activities that provided significant fun over the longest periods. Without a doubt those would be my multiweek roadtrips (eg ID 2017) and similar vacations (eg HI 2018). That's probably why I like to chronicle them here on the AF.
