I invite the sponsor to speak on behalf of this bill.

I agree with it in principle, but will likely to be offering amendments on both when it would go into effect and which programs are actually being discontinued and which are being transferred to a different agency to perform. 1 sentence is sort of a reckless way to deal with this big of a change and it only gives about 3 months notice.

I’m going to need some amendments to this bill. I’m very opposed to shutting down an intelligence agency that does try to protect us from hostile foreign and domestic actors. There’s no one more libertarian on the issue of domestic spying, I am vehemently against it. I’m willing to work with you on this, however we can not just disband the NSA. That will hurt us horrifically.
