Polls continue to tighten as we get towards election and NY, CA isn't one of them, Iowa, MD, NV, CO will get tighter as Dems look for the blue map

George Pataki says "Hi!".

This is great news for me.  I find Molinaro to be one of the most inspiring candidates the GOP has nominated this year.  He's one Republican I am truly pulling for.

Andrew Cuomo is everything his Dad isn't; a hack.  I could never imagine Andrew telling a DNC convention how FDR "lifted himself from a wheelchair to lift a nation from its knees".

This is an inane reference. That was 25 years ago, under a Democratic president, when the country much less polarized.

Inanity is Fuzzy's specialty.

Pataki beat a complacent Mario Cuomo who couldn't see that while he won by a large margin in 1990, it was with a split GOP, and he only got 55% of the vote and was seeking a 4th term.  And Mario Cuomo never had the sort of sleazy reputation that Andrew Cuomo has.

I grant you that I don't fully understand why Andrew Cuomo has such a horrible reputation. Or why he's loathed as a non-progressive (although Robert Wagner, Jr. and Russell Long were far less liberal than their famous liberal fathers).  But he does.  And NY State was not that much less Democratic in 1994 than it is now.

Pataki was leading in actually decent polls, not junk polls like this that claim the GCB in NY in D+3 or that NY's electorate is 78% white/9% black/3% Hispanic when NYC alone makes an electorate like that basically impossible.

I agree that Pataki was in better shape than Molinaro is now.  But I also believe that Andrew Cuomo has less popularity than Mario Cuomo did.

A lot of big city Union honchos like Emmanuel and Andrew Cuomo are in trouble due to the sluggish economy.  Unless a Quinnepiac University poll polls this race, Cuomo is in no danger
