Schools named after terrorists is bad, but not funding education for innocent children is worse.

Why should it be Belgium's responsibility?

Why shouldn't well off countries help out less well off countries?

Look if Belgium was so concerned they should have just asked the director to change the name, this is just to “save money” and get a check from Bibi and a stamp of approval for the Orthodox.

Why are Belgian taxpayers funding schools on a different continent in the first place?

Because children in undeveloped countries have a lower chance of becoming terrorists or economic migrants if they can get a half-decent education. Foreign aid is not a hippy-dippy guilt trip, it's an international stability booster, and very cost-effective compared to military intervention.

The Belgian government has no business extorting its citizens' income to finance the lives of people who live in a different country. The Belgian people will never get any benefits for their tax dollars pouring into a foreign country. Their tax money should be used to fund their own children's education.

While I can’t speak to the Belgian or Palestinian cases specifically, it is generally claimed that foreign aid exists as a pre-military pacification policy. The Belgian government obtains it’s right to allocate funds from its voters and the laws or constitution governing its powers.

of course it was, there are a lot of future voters that wouldn't be too happy about taking money away from the PA just because they celebrate and encourage more terrorists.

FF move. I wouldn't want my money to be given to terrorists, even in name only. It's up to Palestine to change the name.
