What if Hillary's campaign managers and spin doctors would have discovered the political newcomer Beto O'Rourke, who had already been a member of the House for almost four years after beating an incumbent in the primary, with all his rhetorical skills and his charismatic aura and his popularity among liberals and young voters.
Do you think that ticket would have beaten Trump? Could Beto have unified both wings of the party by getting back disenchanted Berniecrats? How well would they have performed in Texas?

The election was close enough that a lot of things could have changed the outcome. Beto wasn't and isn't significantly different than Kaine policy-wise, but he'd probably help on net. He's less experienced, but Clinton didn't need to worry about that, and he would be helpful on the campaign trail.

Are we speaking of 2016 or 2020's potential outcomes? If it's 2016, no difference. The GOP still wins. If it is 2020, then Hillary has a slightly better chance of winning.

2016. That's why I asked: "Who would have won? / Who would you have voted for?"

Well, I don't think Beto would've made much of a difference. He could've improved the margins in TX, but it wouldn't be enough to let Hillary win it since Beto wasn't all that well known at the time.

Wouldn't have mattered one bit for the GE, except to make VA an even thinner win for Clinton. Beto has no chance to unseat Cruz as he ends his career early.

Beto has a Palin/Edwards/Bentsen Effect on the ticket...the VP either outshines or is seen as more presidential than the top of the ticket, and such presence on the ticket is more of a hindrance than a help.

Trump probably picks up NH, ME, and MN plus his OTL blue-to-red pickups.

People would have been really confused as to why the hell Hillary was picking a no-name Congressman from Texas as her running mate.

Just like people were confused as to why McCain chose a no-name half-term governor?

Is it actually known who Beto endorsed in the presidential primaries?

Okay, he endorsed her when her victory couldn't be taken from her anymore.
It's interesting to know ho he voted for in the Texas primary.
