Aka the only group that didn't support mental health reform that was badly needed a few years ago, shows who they are.

Kelda Roys wins the Wispolitcs Democratic Party Convention Straw Poll

– Governor

Total votes: 789

Kelda Roys: 184
Mahlon Mitchell: 93
Tony Evers: 91
Andy Gronik: 89
Dana Wachs: 89
Kathleen Vinehout: 83
Mike McCabe: 81
Matt Flynn: 71
Josh Pade: 7
Paul Soglin: 1 (lol)

— Lieutenant Governor

Total votes: 763

Mandela Barnes: 617
Kurt Kober: 146

— Secretary of State

Total votes: 728

Doug La Follette: 385
Arvina Marie Martin: 343

— State Treasurer

Total votes: 704

Sarah Godlewski: 530
Cynthia Kaump: 109
Dawn Marie Sass: 65

Why did an incumbent like Doug La Follette have such a close vote?

Because he's an elite that doesn't campaign for the job and doesn't think he should have to engage in a primary for the job.

Are unions dropping the Big Bucks for Mitchell on the airwaves yet?

Nothing about Mitchell anywhere, he's really a nobody to the state so he's not going to actually win much over 1% of the vote.

Barrett running for a 5th term in 2020, much better than Zielinski (scum) and Hamilton who will rake in black vote.

Mitchell will take this race to Walker and win😀

Mitchell hands the race to Walker on a silver platter. Guaranteed loss if he's nominated.

Firefighters and Police Unions are strong Unions and they will come together to defeat Walker

Mitchell-4-Gov

They’ll endorse Walker again like normal. He’ll just be there black Milwaukee liberal union thug socialist. He has no real base, won’t even make it out of the primary thank God but he’ll get a few hundred more votes in Milwaukee but lose more out west.

New MU Poll: https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2018/07/18/results-expected-wednesday-marquette-poll/793675002/

Evers at 31%, next is Mitchell and Vinehout tied with 6%, Evers pretty much has this thing in the bag, nobody knows or cares who Mitchell is.

Mitchell hitting Milwaukee-area airwaves hard. Not sure whether the final push will be enough to push him past the others, but this race is going to be close. My guess is that Evers wins by a small margin, with Mitchell the runner-up. It all depends on whether Milwaukee flexes some of its muscle, which seems doubtful if one looks at the 2016 general results as well as this spring's election turnout (relative to the rest of the state).

My opinion of the MKE area, outside of politics (although, as we can see, the city's residents have gone out of their way to show that they don't really care all that much), is overall very poor. So far, it's been the most disappointing city I've visited.
Milwaukee's problem is that 1) it tries to play second-fiddle to Chicago instead of trying to develop its own niche and identity, and 2) it's followed the same patterns and traits of every post-industrial Midwestern city.

Milwaukee's problem is the old German roots, it's cheap and people have the "this is Milwaukee we can't do that/have nice things" no matter how much the city is booming and people are trying to help. It's one of the densest cities outside of the big cities in the country, it would be perfect for rail but the WOW counties are actively trying to destroy the city while getting the benefits of it for free. For example a regional transit authority is illegal per state law.

On a second note I suspect Evers will win by at least a 25% margin.

weird question, but could a D trifecta allowing a public transit network, followed by Milwaukee making one w/ Kenosha and Racine cause WOW to trend R and the southern+Milwaukee county suburbs to trend D, at least at the local and state levels?

With the gerrymander it'll be almost impossible for them to have a D trifecta. Then the problem is that a lot in Madison and outstate if not outright hate are ambivalent to Milwaukee. The biggest goof up was Doyle vetoing a RTS because it wasn't perfect. Milwaukee has a streetcar now, that's what we're going to have to be satisfied with expanding for a long time.

Said Evers by 25%, almost dead on, the other nobodies were far behind, lol at Soglin.

In other good nears Earnell Lucas won, and two liberals are up for the Aldermanic seat in Milwaukee, replacing a moderate conservative. Aka should be one more streetcar supporter on the common council!

So Sarah Godlewski spent $150k on an ad to win the state treasurer’s primary. All for a job that pays $70k a year and requires no real work or duties. Hmm. I’m sure we’ll be seeing her name again for the 2022 Senate race after she wins this year.

Republicans stripped the job duties and tried to kill the job, Democrats want to make the job what it was before...

Walker is trying to buy votes by convincing military vets to come to Wisconsin. They should stay away, once they would come and if he were to win they'd be hung out to dry.

After working the last 8 years on drastically pushing multi billion dollar road expansion and neglecting local roads, Walker is now trying to play the part of the fiscal conservative and say he is against this and always has been and covert groups are pushing expansion. What a tool.

My favorite Scott Walker roads story is how he held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of work on the Zoo Interchange... which is not yet complete.

https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2018/08/28/scott-walker-declares-zoo-interchange-done-even-work-remains/1121749002/

The "core" is complete, they still have millions left to spend on the outer areas, which he deferred so will cost more. #fiscalconservatism

Kimberly Clark demanding $100 million from the state to keep one of their plants open. Walker calling all Republicans back to the capital for a special session to give their masters what they want.

Can anyone believe our Lt Gov? Kleefisch is Wisconsin's Sarah Palin. She literally tried to tell us Walker believes in covering pre-existing conditions even though he's leading Wisconsin in a lawsuit against doing that...

Voted early in Oak Creek, were four other older people voting early too. First time voting all Dem, was very sickening to vote for Larson though.

These videos give me hope:

I guess Wisconsin voters are more informed than I thought! Walker fatigue is real!

Have you seen the Madison area? It's riddled with giant "VOTE" posters and lawn signs everywhere. It's far beyond anything I saw in 2016. My guess is that we'll overperform Dallet's raw numbers and relative turnout.

Yes, I have! Even in Milwaukee! I'm expecting near presidential-level turnout in Dane County and slightly higher turnout in Milwaukee. Dane residents are very elastic this time around! Even if another poll shows Walker ahead, the political mood in this state right now just screams "blue wave." More than 350k absentee ballots have been sent in WI, which is very impressive.

If Milwaukee can turn out like it did in 2012 it would be wonderful but we'll see. You drive out into the country between the two cities and it's giant Republican signs everywhere.

Evers is now getting a State Patrol guard similar to Walker:

Conservatives are quickly pouncing on this being "fake news" and no such thing actually happening.

Milwaukee Common Council open seat filled by a liberal. Also replaces one anti-streetcar vote for a likely pro-streetcar vote.

Milwaukee County supporting rec pot, 93% in with 70% support.
