Elie Wiesel was a good man who represented the resilience of the Jewish community in the aftermath of one of the world's worst genocides. He deserves to be honored.
I’m not questioning his merits, I just don’t see why valuable bandwidth is being wasted on Romanian monuments.
This is a noteworthy international news (on what is the international general discussion board), given that Weisel first discovered the existence of the death camps that were run directly by Romanians during the war. Which means Romania confronts its past in a pretty healthy manner, as opposed to the undersigned's government.
