They have more modern, and more numerous, airframes in Yemen such as the MiG-29. Not sure why they'd reactivate these instead - I hope it wasn't just for the parade value.

There is a cautionary tale here from Libya, in which a prominent pilot who had survived two downings in ancient MiG-21s (one while fighting against jihadists in Derna) died after the war. His third crash was a result of having to fly another old MiG-21 in a parade for Haftar.
