Andrew Mark Cuomo is the second-least popular incumbent Democratic governor among Atlasians.

If Howie Hawkins, Stephanie A. Miner and Larry Sharpe manage to win over disaffected Zephyr supporters so that Republican candidate Marc Molinaro will emerge victorious, will you be okay with his victory, or will his governorship be an utter disaster?

Yes, in that it would end a Cuomo 2020 Presidential bid, and that Molinaro would have no shot of winning reelection in 2022 anyways (even in a D midterm), plus Democrats likely would still take back the State Senate.

However, Molinaro would have some level of control over redistricting, and that's not good either.

There are some aspects of his policy positions which I personally like. For example, in Syracuse, his preferred option for Interstate 81 would allow it to (pretty much) maintain its current routing, as opposed to having it rerouted onto a suburban path - on this issue, I would support any option which allows 81 to remain on its current path. Additionally, he is left of Trump on many social issues, similar to Pataki.

Thus, if Molinaro were to win, I think I could stomach it better than I did with Trump's victory.

I'd be glad Cuomo wasn't governor anymore, but not glad Molinaro was going to be.
