Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors in Hollywood and of the history of U.S. cinema. He received 3 Academy Awards, including two for Best Actor, and is known notably for his roles in Easy Rider, Chinatown, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Shining, Batman, A Few Good Men, About Schmidt, The Departed, etc.

Nicholson has not acted in a film since How Do You Know in 2010, but does not consider himself to be retired.

Whatever happened to him? Is there a movie starring Nicholson about to come soon enough?

Wow, I didn't know that.

I guess he just got tired of acting, or maybe had some health issues? I mean, he's been in the biz since 1958. I suppose it's also possible that maybe he was still interested, but found that as he was getting older, he had less roles available to him that he liked (vs those "old people" movies like Bucket List), and decided it was time to pack it in.

if that had a good script and a good director, it could have been epic.  I can think of two obvious plots off the top of my head, the better one being "retired superheroes are forced out of retirement to save the superheroes that forced them to retire in the first place who were kind of dicks about it, but don't worry, after being saved by our recently retired heroes two of which died in the process, they will learn their lesson".

Could be a combination of things, but health problems seem to be a leading culprit. It's been rumored that he had a difficult time shooting How Do You Know due to some kind of memory loss-related issue, and that was over eight years ago. Regardless, it's probably going to be his last credit.

He recently dropped out of the Toni Erdmann remake, a movie I still don't think will ever get made, anyway.

Well he’s still prominent as a laker homer (can’t wait to see him being disappointed again)
