A shockingly modern looking election. Democrats doing that well in Miami and that bad in the panhandle then is nuts.

A shockingly modern looking election. Democrats doing that well in Miami and that bad in the panhandle then is nuts.

Made even odder by the fact that Askew was a Panhandler (from Escambia, which he did win). But then, he also desegregated Florida schools in his first term.

Made even offer by the fact that Askew was a Panhandler (from Escambia, which he did win). But then, he also desegregated Florida schools in his first term.

I'm sure RINO Tom thinks that has nothing to do with the Panhandle voting Republican. Smiley

Why did the Redneck Riviera vote Republican that year? It used to be a Democratic stronghold at the state level back then.
