There are certainly some, as Republicans won't be losing every currently-held Clinton district.  Are these people mostly Republicans who didn't like Trump but are still Republicans?  Former liberals who Trump has won over during his presidency?  What percentage of them approve of Trump now?

I imagine many of them are 2016 never-Trumpers who reluctantly voted for Clinton but are still reliable GOP supporters, as you said.

The "guy" who founded the #WalkAway movement was actually a Russian bot from one of those troll farms.

No, he was some guy from NYC who was assaulted by a Hispanic yelling anti-white slurs in 2016. When he posted about it on Facebook, he got a lot of SJWs attacking him over it. He said he still voted for Clinton, but it left a bad taste in his mouth and started his move to the Right.

CA-21
TX-23
TX-32
NY-24

and maybe:

CA-10
CA-25
CA-39
CA-48
TX-07
WA-08
IL-06
FL-26
FL-27
PA-01
NJ-07

oh ok, that must mean its true! Roll Eyes

I think it is possible, even likely, that the #WalkAway movement may have been hijacked by Russian propaganda, but I would need to see evidence that the guy who started it himself is a "Russian puppet" or whatever.

Assuming polls are anywhere near accurate, there likely aren't that many. As far as Clinton-GOP districts in the House go, incumbents hanging on will be more likely to do so due to differentials in who turns out in a midterm versus presidential than due to any Clinton-GOP voters.

Even if polls are accurate, there will be thousands of people like this. We should stop pretending independent-minded voters or ticket splitters are that rare.

People in the WOW counties, probably a decent number of voters in swing districts like VA-10, CO-06, and IL-06, and in Orange County, CA.

They had a march this weekend. Few people showed up, few actual 'former Democrats' appeared and there were Q-Anon signs, songs and 'lock her up' chants. So basically like every other right wing grifting operation.

So the same 'someone was mean to me so I changed every political position I ever had overnight and now am making money off the right wing grifting circuit' then?

Stability-oriented, relatively well-to-do people in suburbs for whom Clinton represented continuity but who have found out that America is doing fine with Trump as president and dislike Democrats' turn to the left. Once Democrats nominate a significantly more left-wing candidate for president in 2020, these people will definitely be voting for Trump, who is the one they will perceive as guarding their economic interests.

Honestly. I can’t think of any reason somebody who voted Clinton would vote for the GOP in 2018. The only exceptions I can think of are:

- Voting for popular moderate incumbents like Charlie Baker.
- Not supporting a scandal-ridden Democrat like Keith Ellison.

If you didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 I see no reason you’d warm up to him now.

I think there are plenty of people who hated his temperament but like how he lowered their taxes and like the good economy who would be Clinton-GOP18 voters

Here are some categories I can think of:

1)Anti-Trump Republicans
2)Moderates who dislike both Trump and the Democratic Party
3)Republican-leaning women who voted for the female nominee
4)People who have moved to the right over the last couple years for whatever reason
5)Disengaged, low-information voters who pretty much vote at random
6)People who favor divided government
7)Anyone else voting for popular incumbents

And of course we also have to keep in mind that the voters who turnout will be somewhat different (my understanding is that this plays a big role in e.g. CA-21).

I think most moderates will agree keeping America free from violence and hate and Russian influence is more important than a tax cut. They are the new values voters.

A few Asian-American groups have become more GOP since 2016.
