You have to be formally registered in the party to have that be your ballot designation.

Only two assembly candidates? That's unfortunate. I do hope that a third declares or gets in via write in, as a two person assembly would likely not be productive and wouldn't be representative of a large portion of the population. (Hint hint)

People should be encouraged to play the game and small differences shouldn't be the end of careers.  The game would be better if it was more like real life with serious opposition and this would also encourage more into the game.

What is the rule to set the date for a special Senate election?
I think the unexpected resignation (usually people wait until arouns the time they swear in to a new office) occured October 24, so an election October 26 seems very quick.

It’s in the constitution unfortunately that if you resign on Wednesday then the election is held that weekend.

It's kind of irresponsible for an officeholder to resign very late night on a Wednesday when you don't have to leave for another office right away. Nobody has the time to declare to be on the ballot and campaign. Unless that is the goal, have a surprise election without a campaign.

I know you just apply the rules but I'm not happy of the situation.

Well, if Discord was able to elect a President, who knows what it is capable of doing to the game. Tongue

IT is not discord so much as the migration of interaction/activity away from the boards towards alternative medium, which has changed chats from a supplementary force into a parasitic force that drains the place of vitality, turning it into a place where people show up merely to vote and do nothing more. Be it in Congress or in the voting booth. This has been a steady evolution that began with IRC as the chat medium, discord merely displaced it but carrying on the same impact.

This aspect and to this extent, is completely novel and it is why these boards are so relatively inactive, in spite of record population numbers.
