Alright, my thoughts:

Im glad that Kounalakis is likely to win, according to the poll. In CA, the Lt. Gov is usually the candidate to succeed the Governor, and she would be perfect for the role, considering her policies.

I am also surprised on how resilient the Republican Insurance Commissioner is. I mean, it really is truly impressive. Props where props are due.

The State Superintendent fight is mostly a fight between public schools vs private/charter schools. Tuck represents the private/charter side, and Thurmond the Public side. Though, admititly, the office has been quite gutted, with most powers going to the Governor, the ability to set funding will be very useful in the hands of, most likely, according to this poll, Tuck.

And it looks like the Gas Tax really is cooked. That Summer high didnt last long enough.

It’s kind of a wash for me. Glad that Prop 6 is failing hard and that Newsom’s margins seem to be what they should be, but sad that Poizner and Tuck are leading.

For reference, the senate race is:

Feinstein 45
De Leon 36

Shockingly high for De Leon.

Disappointed about the Gas tax. Hopefully, this poll is wrong. I guess the red avatars on here are fine with vehicle fees and the tax increasing every year automatically. I might be fine with it if it was for one year but it's not. This is only going to hurt minorities and young people the most and other poor people. The Secretary of State's tactics on this proposition are shameful it should have been called the gas tax repeal, which is what it does. Shameful that the court upheld it. Hopefully the SurveyUSA poll that asked who had already voted is correct.

It's good to see rent control fail. Also glad to see Poizner and Tuck are ahead in their races.
