Alright, my thoughts:
Im glad that Kounalakis is likely to win, according to the poll. In CA, the Lt. Gov is usually the candidate to succeed the Governor, and she would be perfect for the role, considering her policies.
I am also surprised on how resilient the Republican Insurance Commissioner is. I mean, it really is truly impressive. Props where props are due.
The State Superintendent fight is mostly a fight between public schools vs private/charter schools. Tuck represents the private/charter side, and Thurmond the Public side. Though, admititly, the office has been quite gutted, with most powers going to the Governor, the ability to set funding will be very useful in the hands of, most likely, according to this poll, Tuck.
And it looks like the Gas Tax really is cooked. That Summer high didnt last long enough.
