HRC won this by 30. What is with all these horrible results for Newsom? I mean, I figure by the end undecideds will break and he'll win by 20+ but it seems odd considering

The 2016 result was an anomaly as far as the margin goes. Trump was just about the worst possible GOP candidate for California.

Polls showed Clinton winning by around 20 points. For some reason (Latinos?) polls underestimate Democrats in California too but nobody cares because unlike Nevada and Colorado there aren't many competitive races.
