HP. Useless leader who has done absolutely nothing as PM except for meaningless 'progressive' publicity stunts. He would never have gotten anywhere near what he has if not for his 'charisma' (read: good looks) and who his father was. His abandonment of electoral reform for no reason at all was infuriating. It's gotten to the point where I would support Scheer just to see him go.

I absolutely hate his brand of identity politics for some reason. I might be misinformed, but since the Canadian tories are somewhat moderate it might be one of the few countries where I could see myself voting for them (at the national level, provincially I imagine I'd still vote Liberal/NDP).

If the Bloq Quebequois wasn't secessionist but instead just a "Quebec's interests" party they'd probably get my endorsement in 2019.

In fact I don't really like Canada's party system much tbh

As much as anyone actually talks about Canada the talk about Trudeau is broadly similar to that about Obama: generally positive; he's got a very good public image and especially with the rise of Trump he's seen as being a much stronger and more relatable leader.  How true that actually is, well, the press doesn't follow the domestic policies of Canada all that closely bar the big ticket items since who really cares?

Basically step out of your bubble for a brief period and don't just assume that the nonsense that you read on the internet is at all true.  Also don't get so irrationally angry because your country has DARED to vote for the WRONG PEOPLE: because trust me, that just sets you up to a very long period of sadness.  My Dad had to deal with eighteen years of it; if he'd been like you he probably wouldn't have survived it.

I don't have any specific names, but I have a gut feeling that the way things are progressing under the Trudeau administration could eventually lead to Canada being led by someone who is like the Canadian equivalent of Donald Trump.
