Florida is a good state to live because of the low cost of living, the warm weather, opulent and lavish mansions if you are successful enough to make more than $250,000+ a year and have a good job, etc.

However, low wages, the poor education system, political crises, too warm weather etc., high insurance house rates due to hurricanes makes Florida a mediocre state.

The Miami New Times article is quite a good explanation for the difference of returned Dem VBM ballots vs returned Rep VBM ballots we saw in the early voting thread. They are neatly sorted, thus claiming that they could not deliver them is an idiotic excuse. As soon as the letters are sorted, the main work is done and they only need to be delivered.

I am still waiting if this is confirmed by other media.

A) The elections Supervisor of Broward County (BC) is a Jeb Bush appointee
B) As there are voter lists in a poll worker's station, this kind of fraud will immediately exposed. Thus in our times, no electoral Supervisor would do it this way.
https://tqv.vrswebapps.com/?state=FL&county=bro Here the Status of BC
C) These conspiracy theorist  omit the fact that these ballots from VBM were intentionally not delivered. No postal service A) sorts the VBM, and than B) just refuses so deliver them.

Scott's absolute freak out gives me confidence that whatever they're seeing on their end isn't looking good for him. I'm confident Nelson will pull this off. Scott's lawyer on CNN right now conceding that yes, - there will be a recount, probably both machine and manual.

Is there any confirmation of the Opa-Locka story from a more established media outlet than the New Times?

I'm not sure if it was noticed, but Monroe flipped from a small Scott lead to a small Nelson lead a while ago.

Anything to win the election. I'm wondering how many elections Republicans have stolen in Florida with all these dirty tactics, and they NOW got caught.

The Postal Service is in league with Trump.  You have got to be joking.

"Palm Beach elections supervisor bans cameras from public ballot-counting"

This is simply not normal. They've always let journalists film this before.

This is absurd. Maybe the staff of the county wants to protect the privacy of itself. The impression is catastrophic and gives Gov. Scott a narrative. Counting is a public action.

Someone working in there could be trying to mess with the results for all we know. Never once did I mention Trump. Work on reading comprehension.

If that’s the case, the Democrats should just Give Up and start Sleeping In, maybe even start a Brand New Colony. For Republicans though there might be Nothing Better. In any case, though, The District Sleeps Alone Tonight.

Hypothetical time (NOT saying this is happening or has happened): let's say there did exist a corrupt and savvy county election official somewhere in a high population county who decided to print up an extra, say, 100k ballots with one party's candidates selected. These ballots were stored in chunks of tens of thousands in separate locations to be used as needed to affect some electoral outcome. What mechanisms do we actually have in place to prevent or catch this type of behavior?

All those mail-in  ballots have an ID on them associated with a voter, and the voter's name and signature on the ballot envelope. You could easily track down the voters and ask if they voted? It would be pretty easy conspiracy to unravel...

Rachel Maddow sent producers down so that they had eyes on the ground. Sounds like the local police have put up a protective barricade around the Broward County to keep protesters a safe distance away from the counting site. Probably want to prevent another Brooks Brothers riot.

What if you used deceased voters' names? It'd be a lot harder to reverse engineer that without doing a check on every single ballot.

It would be pretty easy to cross-reference if somebody was dead. We have these things called computers. It's not the 1960's in Chicago that conservatives seem to be obsessed with, where the dead where supposedly voting.

The neighborhood of Opa-locka is 65% Black. No idea if this distribution center is where all the mail is routed to from that area but that's crazy.

Can't they look at the Postmark and see when these ballots were submitted to the Post Office. It would be crazy to disenfranchise voters because a terrorist made a mailing facility go into lockdown.

Though regardless, Disney is trash, and FL/CA have way better places.

Yeah, the main Post Office distribution center for South Florida is in Opa-locka.
