I haven't been following the discussion on 2020 candidates on this message board, but I have been following politics, and one candidate that I find really interesting is Andrew Yang.  He's by far the most intelligent person running on both sides, the only one who has provided an honest explanation of why Trump won the Rust Belt, and the only one who has provided a solution (UBI paid by businesses that use automation, via a value-added tax).
Does he have any chance of winning?  He has been campaigning in Iowa and NH and generating a lot of interest in those two states, but the lazy major tv networks are completely ignoring him.  I think that once he makes an appearance on a major tv network he would immediately become a serious candidate, because he makes more sense than anyone.  Your thoughts?

Well they said the same thing about Trump.  It would be nice to see an intelligent American being president.

True, but he is going to get overshadowed by like 15+ other candidates. Trump was at least already well known from the get-go.

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

I've read through Yang's website (I noticed him because he's a native son of Schenectady, New York, where one of my best friends lives) and, yeah, there's a lot to like or at least a lot that's interesting and unusually well-considered. He obviously doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell, but hopefully some higher-profile candidates will look into his platform.
