Why did he raise taxes on the rich and should he really take credit for the Republicans balancing the budget?

The Clinton budget of 1993 that included many of the tax increases and spending cuts that led to the balanced budget passed without a single Republican vote.  The real question is: how can any Republican claim credit for balancing the budget?

This and lets not forget Bush's 1990 Budget Deal where he broke the Tax Pledge.

Lol, Republicans wanted to cut taxes more on the rich, which would have eliminated the surplus (it did when Bush did it).  Without Clinton there to stop Republicans from cutting taxes on the rich, we never would have had the surplus.

Clinton as Pres, Gingrich as Speaker, Kasich as Budget Committee chair, bring back those glorious surplus creating days.

Clinton as President and Tom Foley as Speaker would be MUCH better.
