This is a good question. Before the midterms I would've said Trump, now I'm not so sure. Even putting aside the overperformance of Casey and Wolf (which Erie voted for both by more than their statewide margins), even DiNicola won the county by 20 points. So it does seem to be one of the few Obama-Trump areas that is "reverting to form" to an extent. It obviously depends on the candidates, political environment, etc. But gun to my head I'd now say the Democrats. It'll probably be a narrow win either way though unless 2020 becomes a landslide.

Isn't it just a statewide bellwether at this point?

It was actually more Democratic than the state as a whole in 2018 after being more Republican than the state as a whole in 2016. But it wasn't anywhere near as D friendly relative to the state as a whole as it was in 2008 and 2012, so clearly Trump's performance wasn't a total fluke and the trend is still present. But it definitely seems to be much friendlier Obama-Trump turf than places like Northeast PA, the Mahoning Valley, most of Iowa, etc.

Why would you vote for? Rino Tom or BRTD?

I agree with BRTD more ideologically, but assuming he's anything like his forum persona as president, he'd probably be a much worse president than RINO Tom. And since RINO Tom is basically a moderate Democrat on everything besides tax cuts, he'd be an acceptable choice if BRTD didn't seem fit to hold the office. Ask me after the debates. Democrat vs. Democrat elections are the best.

Pshhh, I ain't debatin'. Smiley

I'm surprised they called Minnesota for Mondale with only 2% of precincts in. That could've easily ended up being wrong.

I'm literally a "WWC" that voted for Hillary (though I'm also college educated), so that one.

Yah lol, For NBC though it was the last state they called .

Best part about that video is watching solid dem states like MA and WV (at the time ) which you could argue were the definition of New Deal Coalition states were won by Reagan against a New Deal type Dem . You could argue that Reagan winning those two states was basically the final remnants of the old New Deal coalition being wiped away

The utterly hilarious piping hot takes about how Matt Bevin and/or Mitch McConnell could actually lose. Also #swingstatenevada and #swingstateohio.

Definitely AL-Sen, lol. Mostly because I was so vocal and vehement about it. I didn't really make many posts about MD-Gov, iirc.

Wow, they found a Demosaur!

He seems like a massive FF. Very brave of him to admit to being a Hillary voter in McDowell County of all places.

Handsome, and I love reading his cutting edge #analyses (see AL-Sen 2017).

Thanks! But you forgot to ask me something. Tongue
