The overall results this year were almost identical to 2010, but in 2010 the Republican candidate only won two counties. Definitely a sign of changing alignments.

Polarization really has gotten intense, with the Republican candidate winning that many counties despite losing by 40 points.

That's literally the reason why he's so popular. IL has by far the fastest, most efficient DMVs in the nation. People who haven't been to an IL DMV won't understand how different it is from everywhere else.

Anyway I read about him and he seems like a massive FF as a non corrupt Illinois government officer. He has a led a lot of popular programs and he refused to seat Roland Burris.
