It probably depends a lot on where you are and what time of year it is.

There's actually a full chart available here, although it's pretty dense.

However on average, bananas are the cheapest fresh fruit, altho on a per pound basis watermelons are cheaper.

On a per cup basis (one serving),

1.  Watermelon (20 cents)
2.  Bananas. (28 cents)
3.  Cantaloupe. (38 cents)
4.  Apples (42 cents)
5.  Pineapple (47 cents)
6.  Dried Cranberries (58 cents)

There are lots that hover between 60 and 70 cents...peaches, mangoes, papaya, oranges, etc

For vegetables you can eat nutritiously and cheaply with:
Potatoes
Dried beans
Lentils
Cabbage
Carrots

All between 20-30¢/1 cup serving

Perhaps, but don't you think he'd be a little overripe at this point? Wink

(I've always liked Charles.  He was a hilarious person.)

I still watch Match Game from time to time.  He ran circles around Paul Lynde.

Me too.  His petty fights with Brett Somers were hysterical (they clearly had great affection for each other).

That was a great show.  It's a shame the format wouldn't work well these days. It's a lot tougher to do family-friendly unscripted comedy these days as the slightly-risque humor that was the staple of Match Game just doesn't zing like it used to.
