Any feedback on the above version? If anyone would like to propose revisions to the Bill of Rights, be my guest. Otherwise I will put something together after Christmas.

I have been working on Bill of Rights edits. In the meantime, I encourage all Delegates to give feedback. This is probably the most important thing we will pass this session, I'd like to have confirmation from every Delegate that they have read this and are OK with it before proceeding to a final vote.

Assuming the proposed ammendments are the scratched and underlined in yellow parts in the document from the first post, I have no issues with this.

In any case this will go to a referendum anyways right?

Yes, under current wording it requires 2/3s support in the legislature and a majority of citizens voting for it in a referendum.

Once everyone confirms they are OK with the bill of rights, I think the biggest question remains is whether to change the name to Jefferson IN THIS DRAFT or keep it as The South.

I'm fine with the bill of rights. I still think the public should have separate votes on the name change and the rest of the amendment.

Bill of rights is good but I agree with Wulfric that there should be two separate referendum questions.

Yeah, I also agree with the 2 referendums thing. As for the bill of rights itself, my only concern is with point 3.

Couldn't the "meet voting requirements as established by law" be used to reduce voting rights or eligibilty? (I don't think anyone will actually do it, but I'd rather not have the possibility)

Good question. I included that to account for posting/age of account requirements that we have in place in the game already.

If there is no other feedback, I'm asking for a final vote at the start of next week. I'm sure this Constitution isn't perfect and there will be future amendments as we progress, but I think this is a big step in the right direction compared to our current one. I would like for this to be on the ballot in concurrence with the January regional elections.

I don't have much to add if at all. I'd be fine with voting Yes when the time comes.

I call for an immediate vote on whether the name should be left as Jefferson in this draft or changed back to the South. Once that is complete, I think we can proceed to a final vote. At this point I am pretty indifferent either way on a name change, I am fine with whatever the Chamber decides.

The question occurs on the Name of the Region. Please vote for 'Jefferson' or for 'The South'.

By a vote of 3-2, the Region Name will be "The South".

I have reverted the name back to The South and it will be reflective in a below post. From my understanding, the reasoning for Delegates voting to stick with The South is the belief that there wasn't a strong enough mandate from The People's vote to include the change in this draft. For those in support of Jefferson as the name, please know that this can still happen later on down the road, there is just a concern with tying a controversial name change with an otherwise clear-cut comprehensive amendment.

Motion for a final vote.

If anyone notices anything, feel free to object, but if there's nothing left to say, it's time to move this forward.

A final vote has started. Please vote AYE or NAY. Pursuant to the Southern Constitution, a 2/3 majority is required for Passage.
