Could Tom Cotton be unseated by Vic Snyder?

same answer

Yes, because Arkansas is #populist Purple heart and Democratic At Heart™ and Snyder is a good ol boy who was popular and is a great fit for the state! Also imo cotton weak candidate imo, and it won't matter that Trump wins the state by 30 points because red states aren't partisan at all and love splitting their tickets! #PolarizationDoesn'tExist

Unbeatable Titan Mike Beebe would make it safe D though, natch. He'd be a far stronger than candidate than Snyder, who would only make it toss up/tilt D imo tbh imho tbqh.

how did vic snyder even survive until 2010?
Like I get maybe on some economic issues he could be a liberal but he VOTED AGAINST gay marriage bans in the freaking 1990s. Yeah it was Little rock but even now its not super liberal.

Barring some unforeseen circumstances, no.

It's not impossible, and Comstock probably is still the only Republican who can beat Warner, but her odds are very remote, especially since the Senate is more likely to experience a D wave in 2020 than the House is.

Comstock's demise was pretty much the epitome of Virginia's transition into a solidly blue state. The idea of her unseating Warner with Trump running at the top of the ticket is laughable.

What even makes anyone think that Comstock could even win a R primary/convention to take on Warner?

Warner is bit of a moderate hero. He is a ideologixally where you needed to be to win in VA in the 1990's and 2000's. He's a very 2005 DLC type of person. I wouldn't mind him losing in the Democratic primary. Carper in Delaware is another annoying DLC moderate hero.

It would probably be a 55/44 victory for senator Warner

Emily Cain can unseat Susan Collins in 2020. She only lost because of red waves!!!1!1!!!
lol
at this point Golden might as well run for senate. He has like a <15% chance of being a congressman in Jan 2023. If Trump wins he probably loses due to coattails
If trump loses he loses in a dem midterm.
Golden would still lose in 2020. Trump would lose AZ, GA, NE-2, and TX before he's losing ME-02.

I mean if Trump loses by a moderate amount nationally, Golden could probably hang on in 2020. Its clear he is a pretty good fit for the district as a young former marine who doesn't attack guns along with being one of the few #populists representing a trump district.

Why Comstock?, Wittman or Nick Freitas would seem like perfectly fine candidates than just promoting a loser, although they'd both lose to Warner anyways.

Yep. The days where the Fairfax Republicans ruled held any power in the state GOP are long gone. There's no Republican constituency for a moderate (read: non-grievance) candidate in the state party anymore.

More interesting question is how much pressure a leftist candidate could put on Warner in 2020. The guy is a Virginia Institution at this point and he's not going to get toppled, especially considering a candidate with recognition/press like Perriello couldn't hang one on a candidate as unassuming and milquetoast as Northam. But the Chamber of Commerce-type voters in the state that he spent a decade and a half wooing are totally at a disadvantage compared the amount of progressive energy we're seeing nationwide right now. Dude should wake up and stop voting like it's 2005.

Im still pissed at the fact that Warner voted for Gina Haspel. Durbin should have whipped up #resistance votes there. there were THREE GOP no votes and Mark Warner and BILL NELSON decide that voting for Haspel will help them lmao.

Jon Tester voted against Gina Haspel and still won.

JD needs to go after him in 2020. Now whether they can find somebody competent is another question.

the most incompotent organization in the country
Goes after the one man who can hold his senate seat(Joe Manchin). Doesn't go after Bob Menendez who got 60% of the vote against a no namer LOL.
