I consider myself now as a low-prole, but hoping to become mid-prole or maybe higher in the future.

Father is a factory worker is so middle prole, mother works in a kindergarten but earns less than father

Same with me, but in my case, mom earns more than dad.

Declined from Middle at earlier childhood to Lower Prole for most of life. I'm honestly amazed at how upper class this forum is. Upper / Upper-middle new money is supposed to be "quite wealthy" top 20% or so and it's sitting at a plurality. Even my friends, who are far more successful than me, are merely middle/upper proles with middle class parents.

I think these classes aren't that useful without numbers, because everyone claims to be middle-class even when they're not.

I think these classes aren't that useful without numbers, because everyone claims to be middle-class even when they're not.

And the numbers need to somehow by tied to cost of living ... the person who makes $200,000 per year and lives in Manhattan is making the equivalent of ~$79,634 in Omaha.  Conversely, making $200,000 per year in Omaha affords you the lifestyle of someone who is making ~$502,296.

I'd say middle, given the nature of my dad's work. My dad owns a small grocery store that serves its local area, as well as the local Amish and Mennonite community that doesn't want to travel far or spend a lot of money. He makes close to $175k per year.

Both of my parents are wage labourers that have a nice house in the suburbs, so excluding my position as a destitute student I’d say I’m a middle proletarian.

Middle prole.

This makes me poorer than most of atlas. I will now put in my order for a maroon avatar and subscription to Jimmy Dore.

I mean, the established definition of the middle are usually upper civil servants or people that are their own boss, wether they utilize mainly their own labour or others.

This classification is rather useless for jobs such as musicians, artists, voice actors or C-list actors.

Technically none, my household would be middle. I generally would describe us as upper middle class, but based strictly on this system, my dad is a computer security guy and my mom is a medical technician/respiratory therapist, so it fits in more with middle.

I'm a generic middle class paper-pusher/office drone.

I grew up in an upper-middle class family: we lived in a fairly large house, had a housekeeper and a gardener come about once a week, always drove new cars, and my parents paid for private non-sectarian K-12 schools. Both of my parents have graduate/professional degrees. Dad inherited a non-negligible amount of money from his family but that's largely gone now.

I don't have kids or have any real interest in having them, but would definitely not be able to provide that standard of living to them given what's happened to housing and education costs since then. They would probably have to attend public schools (the horror!).

Family: Middle-class occupations with upper middle-class incomes.
Personal: Lower-prole, but I'm tricky to determine as I'm still a student and live with my parents.
