Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Baby Boomers are well-known for having turned from fresh-faced youth radicals to clones of their tiresome consumption-obsessed parents except more right-wing and without the excuse of having grown up during the Great Depression. Our Baby Boomer presidents have all been loathsome sex pests (Bill Clinton; Donald Trump), performatively uncouth rightist demagogues (George W. Bush; Donald Trump), or hapless blueskyers with no follow-through (Barack Obama; Donald Trump). Gen X, meanwhile, features crypto-Nazis such as Kris Kobach, overgrown College Republican mega-ideologues such as Ted Cruz and Paul Ryan, and protean shills such as Cory Booker, Kyrsten Sinema, and Tim Ryan. Oh and Boozehound Brett Kavanaugh. Will the latter make us miss the former when they're gone? Only time will tell, but I think it's a distinct possibility.

I think there's plenty of time for other Gen Xers to assert themselves, all of the Gen Xere the OP names are pandering to Boomer voters, and Ryan is nowhere close to being as bad as Atwater, Gingrich, Cheney, or Palin.

Insofar as he comes off better in press conferences, sure, I guess.

No, only because Gen X politicians appear to be a lot more transactional in how they do business.

Not sure yet, the Boomers did a lot of damage and Gen X is smaller than both the Boomers and Millennials. The Silent Gen never made it to the Presidency, so maybe Gen X won't either.

Let's see in the late 2020s and 2030s when they fully replace the boomers. It could be slightly better or an even larger clusterf[inks]. It will be interesting to see how much the system can take until things start to meltdown. Right now, it just feels like Homer and his job at the plant with these Boomers. What will be interesting is how the 2040s-2060s play out with Millennials.

The idea of the anti-war radical baby boomer generation that grew up to be conservative squares is 90% myth.

Yeah it was younger baby boomers who were too young to have been radicals that became so called ‘clones’ plus the number of early baby boomer who were hippies is overrated.

Tipper Gore, the Clintons, Gingrich, and Dubya were "younger boomers"?

*cough cough*

generations are myths

*cough cough*

you can't just simply divide the gradient that is our ages using concrete definitions

*cough cough*

the fact no-one can agree on where generations start and end proves how flawed "generations" are

*dies of pneumonia*

So far the youth have always been less terrible than the old. I think we’re gonna experience okay times once the storm passes.

This, except for the fact that we still can't fully count out the Silent Generation making it to the Presidency, considering Biden & Bernie are 2 Democratic frontrunners going into 2020.

You're gonna miss Baby Boomers once Millennial Republicans take power. This being a generation who believe Alex Jones, Sargon, and Charlie Kirk are 'punk rock'.

Popping in to make two clarifications about the rationale behind this thread.

1. I'm perfectly aware (indeed, among my own friends I'm the first to point out) that named, delineated "generations" were made up by Madison Avenue to sell soda and Buicks; however, in the case of politics, there are definitely different "styles" that are typical of people who are different ages or whose formative years were spent in different political and cultural environments. Having said that, though, the premise of this thread is like 80% joke anyway.
2.

Will anyone care about "generations" once the Boomers are dead?

God, I hope not.
